Lime Crab Cake Recipe for an Interesting Summer Variation
Florida Key Lime Crab Cakes with shrimp make for a slightly tropical variation on crab cakes for seafood lovers!
1 pound crab meat, fresh lump or canned (if canned, drain well) 1/cup cooked shrimp, finely chopped 1 cup bread crumbs ¼ cup milk 2 tablespoons mayonnaise 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce ½ teaspoon key lime juice 1 tablespoon chopped green pepper 1 tablespoon chopped celery ½ teaspoon dry mustard ½ teaspoon Old Bay spice mix ¼ teaspoon salt 2 eggs, beaten
Mix all ingredients together, shape into patties. Place on a cookie sheet and chill for a half-hour before cooking.
When chilled, in a skillet, heat two tablespoons of oil over medium heat. When oil starts to ripple slightly, carefully place crab cakes in pan, leaving plenty of space between each cake. Fry until golden, about four minutes on each side. Serve warm. Enjoy!
