Garlic Shrimp Recipe

Easy Garlic Shrimp Recipe

  • 1 pound large shrimp (12 to 15 per pound)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • ½ cup parsley, minced
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Warm oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and shrimp and cook until shrimp turns pink, about two minutes on each side. Add remaining ingredients, stir.

Serve over pasta or rice or in lettuce wraps.


Variations

Shrimp Garlic with Sherry

Use Easy Shrimp Garlic Recipe. Cook shrimp and garlic as directed above. When shrimp is almost cooked, add ¼ cup sherry to skillet, cook one more minute. Add remaining ingredients, stir. Serve over pasta and rice or in lettuce wraps.

Garlic Shrimp Recipe with Sherry and Cream Sauce

Use Shrimp Garlic with Sherry Recipe above. Add 1 cup whipping cream with sherry.




Baked Garlic Shrimp Recipe with Sherry

  • 1 pound large shrimp (12 to 15 per pound)
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • ½ teaspoon fresh thyme, minced
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes cracked black pepper
  • ½ cup bread crumbs

Preheat oven to 400º.

In a casserole dish, arrange shrimp in a single layer. Mix together oil, garlic, sherry and seasonings. Pour over shrimp, cover with bread crumbs. Bake for 12 minutes.


Baked Garlic Shrimp with Peppers and Onions

  • 1 pound large shrimp (12 to 15 per pound)
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 red onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, loosely chopped

Preheat oven to 400º.

Mix all ingredients except cilantro in a bowl, refrigerate for one hour or let stand to marinate at room temperature for ½ hour. Transfer to a casserole or other oven-proof dish, bake 12 minutes. Sprinkle with cilantro.


Garlic Shrimp Crepes

Filling:

  • 1 pound medium shrimp (35 to 40 per pound), chopped
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons minced shallots
  • ½ cup tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon fresh marjoram or oregano, minced
  • ½ cup dry white wine

Crepe ingredients (makes 15-20 crepes):

  • 2 eggs - beaten
  • 1 cup, milk
  • 1 cup, flour
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter, cooled
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

For crepe batter:

Beat together the eggs, add milk and whisk. Slowly pour in the flour, continue whisking until smooth. Add in the butter and salt, whish until mixture has the consistency of crème.

Over a medium heat, lightly oil a skillet or griddle. Pour out about ¼ cup of the batter, swirl pan to form a circle. Cook for about 2 minutes, turn over with a spatula and cook other side.

For filling:

Over medium heat, pour 2 tablespoons olive oil into a skillet. When hot, add the shrimp, garlic and shallots. Sauté until shrimp just begins to turn pink, about 3-4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except wine, and sauté another minute. Remove shrimp from pan and place in a warm bowl. Add wine to skillet and reduce, about 2-3 minutes. Add shrimp back to skillet and let reheat. Roll a few spoonfuls of the filling into each crepe and serve.


Grilled Garlic Shrimp Recipe with Chives and Worcestershire Sauce

  • 1 pound medium or large shrimp (large: 12 to 15 per pound, medium, 35 to 40 per pound)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • ¼ cup chives, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ¼ cup parsley, chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

In a skillet over low heat, sauté garlic in butter, about 2 minutes. Place in a bowl with chives, parsley, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and pepper. Mix well, add shrimp, let marinate in refrigerator, 1 hour. Remove from fridge, place shrimp on skewers and grill, about two minutes on each side.

Optional: Sauté 2 more cloves of garlic, minced, adding two more tablespoons of olive oil. Toss with angel hair pasta and grilled shrimp, sprinkle with parsley.


Spicy Grilled Garlic Shrimp Recipe

Use recipe for Grilled Garlic Shrimp with Chives and Worcestershire Sauce. Add 1 teaspoon pepper sauce or Tabasco sauce to the marinade.


Ginger Garlic Shrimp

  • 1 pound large shrimp (12 to 15 per pound), tails on
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoons ginger minced
  • ¼ cup scallions, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

In a skillet over medium heat, add garlic, scallions, ginger and shrimp and cook about 4 minutes, turning shrimp to cook each side. Salt and pepper to taste.

Serve over white rice with soy sauce.


Creamy Garlic Shrimp with Tarragon

  • 1 lb medium shrimp
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon tarragon

In a skillet over medium heat, sauté shrimp, olive oil and garlic about 3 minutes, until shrimp turns slightly pink. Remove shrimp from skillet, set aside. Add cream and tarragon to the skillet, sauté for about 2 minutes, or until mixture starts to bubble. Add wine and cook one more minute. Add shrimp back to skillet and let reheat. Sprinkle with parsley and serve.

Optional serving suggestion: serve over pasta.
